Toolkit for a Survival/Bug-Out Backpack, Prototype 1
Переглядів 31 тис.9 місяців тому
This prototype kit is a "re-kit": a re-designing of an existing, prefabricated repair/tool kit for my own specific needs, which I bought from Amazon, but they are sold by many vendors for around $11 to $16. This main kit is a mini tool kit, mostly for the repair of electronics meant for my survival/"bug out" backpack I am loading up. Note: this kit is not a stand alone survival kit, just a tool...

SUPER Sharp Swiss Army Knife: SERRATED Spartan!

I bought 2 (hard to find) Victorinox SERRATED Spartan SAKs (Swiss Army Knives), not to be confused with their plain old Spartan (straight-edged blade), just to get their rare, 91mm SERRATED blades for a future project. I suspected they'd be great, and guess what? THEY ARE! WOO HOO! I demonstrate the impressive cutting ability in this video. NOTE: Be careful when ordering these because search en...

DELETED SCENES from Maratac Peanut BEAST Flashlight Review
Переглядів 2,5 тис.2 роки тому
These are deleted scenes from my quick mini review of the newly released Maratac Peanut BEAST flashlight, the "BRIGHTEST IN ITS CLASS" according to the supplier, Countycomm. I liked nearly everything about this keychain flashlight EXCEPT its short runtime in Turbo & High mode. [Not surprising considering the tiny battery, a third the size of my other keychain flashlights using Li-ion AAA, aka "...

Here's the first UA-cam review of the Maratac Peanut BEAST key chain flashlight! [Not to be confused with their non-BEAST version.] Its unusually large head with a deep parabolic mirror lets it pump out an AMAZING "520 Lumens, 1020ft throw, & it's BRIGHTEST IN ITS CLASS" according to the supplier, Countycomm. The short run-times on medium and high might be a big setback for many users but if, l...
Is Your Face Mask CLEAN !?

Grungy bag or pockets? NO PROBLEM! Here's a 1-minute video showing how to keep your face mask 100% CLEAN and tidy while you carry it, plus you'll never forget it because it's on your keys! TIP: Fold the mask's side ends in first and place them and the strings on the inside of the metal nose clip. This helps ensure you don't fold the metal nose strip dead flat (which can wear it out over time). ...
Tiny Travel Toiletry Tin!

This toiletry kit stays in my go bag (an emergency evacuation kit I grab when I run out the door, say if the house is on fire) but it works great for anyone who likes to travel light on short trips too, at least as a BACKUP kit. Good job
Great review
This was a great add-on tip!! But for those who already carry a mini screwdriver or FireAnt firestarter in their corkscrew, the best place to hide a paperclip is under the big Phillips screwdriver in any Victorinox SAK that has one. It doesn't interfere at all and is instantly accessible, with no having to fiddle with threading it onto the corkscrew.
Little straw, little mirror, razor blade. You've been partying with smurfs aint ya. Haha Just playing. Good video. My keychain fire kit is a keychain capsule full of homemade firestarters. I can fit 12 fires worth of material in it and i have a 3 inch piece of fatwood and a keychain ferro rod with striker. Ive always got a knife on me and thats what ive got on me if i can get to my car i have a large pill bottle fire kit
Excellent brother and thank you for sharing your wisdom.
Sh*t, I think this will be my first knife for camping. The one time I will need it for meat it should be fine 👌🏻
Merci, grace à vous, j’ai enfin réussi à fermer ce « grrrrrr » couteau
Thank you😊
That made me laugh
Very cool.
OCD to the rescue! But if it works it works! & I subscribed (I think I’m OCD) lol 😂😊
<3 from Indonesia. Want to see you use all the items in an emergency situation
I was just thinking how worthless the scissors are on my micra. Pretty sad for a scissors based multitool. Glad I can repurpose the other parts.
Nice video. I prefer a 12 inch paracord tied into an easy pull apart lanyard. It can be folded to measure anything smaller than a foot. If you want to get fancy use your wife's nail polish to mark inches in it.
Develop! Step by step Freezing conditions. Wet conditions. Rain. Water-resistant. Most Important when carried is it BANGING! On a long way there is really nasty nagging sound. Click Click.
Thank you
BATTERY TESTER IS GOAT.
Sooo. Yeah. That Leatherman pouch was sold with the Leatherman Sidekick, I believe when it first came out. It came with a carabiner to hang the pouch off of, or to just keep it closed. Kind of a shame you killed it, rare item and probably of some value to collectors
It was a ridiculous, clumsy, poorly thought out, stupid design and completely worthless to me, but quite handy to use as scrap material for testing cutting capability, so I did get THAT use from it.
Informative and hilarious. Unfortunately all my saks have the philips driver instead of the corkscrew because it's infinitely more useful for me lol
I am completely new to this stuff. Videos like this are making me totally geek out. Love it.
Great kit
Just a suggestion... When attaching the scale with the retractable pen, be sure and orient the scale so that the pen emerges on the opposite side of the knife from the key ring. Otherwise the key ring will be in the way of the pen. Cheers!
You would be better adding your pre- threaded neddle and extras under a ranger band which you could trim off small slithers for a flame extender. Without desyroying uour knife.
Have you caught fish on that mini hook with no sinker? What type of are you targetting?
That bic ferro rod is a waste of time. Not practical. I wouldn't want to bust my scales to use that. A nitecore tiki is a better light option than a photon.
You can actually get better after market ferro rods that fit in the tooth pick holder.
WOW Made in USA! No wonder America is still the number one! I will install it in mine now. Maybe put 2? Thanks
Why to press the dot, when already contact is made 😮by the foil

I have never thought, using a paperclip in a survival situation. But I cannot use it, because I have the Phillips screwdriver instead of the corkscrew.
Who said it has to be a "survival situation"?
@@MeZillch that's true, you have also showed several other situations, where the paperclip can be usefull. But I cannot store the clip in my knife.
Sorry but I won't sacrifice the glasses screwdriver for a paperclip. I might put one in my pouch though.
I've owned SAK models with the screwdriver in the corkscrew since they first appeared and found it never actually fit any eyeglasses I've ever owned. [It was too big.] Also as I show it the video you can fashion one end of the paper clip into a screwdriver tip and store that if you please. 10:33

I will not carry a pry bar any shorter than 8" inches ⛏ I carry a titanium pry bar.
If it loses it's magnetism, you can re-magnetize it. Run it along a different, strong magnet to re-energize
People really get me with all the micro crap.. what in the ever loving shit will someone actually be able to accomplish with 1 straight pin, 4ft of paracord, 1 safety pin, or a needle with a meter of thread..!!!??? "Oh shit, it's the zombie apocalypse and I've popped a button on my shirt..!! Hold tight Mr zombie man, whilst I sew my button on..!!" 1 hour later still trying to pry off 1 scale on your knife cause you superglued it..!!! I love SAKs..!! Get one with a good blade, saw, awe, and your good..!!
<3 from Indonesia
You could probably get at least 20 of them on the little key ring. Just saying.
Great Video ! I bet you can hardly feel it’s in your pocket great Mod !
"It's wafer thin."
On Dr bronners: I bought a quart of baby mild seven years ago. And a dollar store squeeze bottle (think a condiment bottle). Because I follow directions (Dilute! Dilute! Dilute!), I still have maybe a quarter left. It’s powerful stuff.
Yes, very concentrated stuff. I even find diluting it 10:1 works for many situations but usually I do closer to 4:1 or 5:1.
Good skills man - I love it 👍
OMG ..by
Why bother, the BIC lighters are small enough as is and you lost two-thirds of the fuel.
You carry a BIC lighter on your keys? No? I know why: the size. This thing is MUCH smaller 0:24
Do you remember what gauge pin Victorinox used for their larger models.? The pin that goes behind the corkscrew/philips ??
I'm not dead sure what they ship with, but on my 91mm Deluxe Tinker it nicely accepted a Singer 250, nickle plated steel Straight Pin, labelled as "size 20, 1 - 1/4" length". I like that it has a little bit of friction to hold it in snugly so it won't rattle or fall out.
Some nice ideas here, I particularly like the tape idea. I have the CyberLite and pretty much gave up with the light as it kept turning on in my pocket so the battery is always dead. Just one other comment, On the Cyberlite you can add a 7cm rule on the back of it between the springs for the pliers and magnifying glass. There is also a little cavity near the hinge of the cybertool that could hold a very thin rolled up paper ruler.
